Some careers are jobs. Others are callings. For Edward Falk, public safety was always more than work. It was a commitment to service, discipline, and leadership.
Born in New York, Edward later moved to Florida during high school. That move marked a turning point. It opened the door to a career that would span three decades in fire and emergency services.
“I knew early on I wanted to do something that mattered,” Edward says. “Helping people in their worst moments felt like the right path.”
After high school, Edward worked in the auto body and paint industry. It was steady work. It required attention to detail. But something else called to him.
He enrolled in both fire academy training and EMT school. He worked while studying. He trained while building experience.
“It wasn’t easy balancing everything,” he says. “But once I started the training, I knew I was where I needed to be.” That decision launched a 30-year career as a firefighter and paramedic.
